I am a highly experienced, fully qualified primary school teacher with over 30 years experience in both State and Independent schools.

I have an excellent understanding of the new National Curriculum requirements in English and Maths in Key Stage 2 and have coached children through the CSSE 11+ exams for many years with a very high success rate.

I am DBS checked and have Paediatric First Aid Training.

Throughout my career I have taught children from the ages of 6 up to 12 and have also supported children studying for GCSEs in French and Spanish.

Having taught for 25 years in a small, independent school, I honestly believe that every child can achieve more with the understanding of an inspirational teacher in a one to one or small group situation.

My aim at Heckingbottom Learning is to encourage children to learn confidently and independently in a friendly environment within the safety and security of their own home, to progress steadily and to achieve their own potential.

I always start by assessing your child’s current ability, looking for gaps in their learning and areas that need continued work. From there, the work is adapted as necessary to meet your child's individual needs.

I offer Maths, English and 11+ tuition - either individually or in small groups - in your own home to children from Year 4 onwards.
